DECEMBER 14                 GAUDETE / THE THIRD SUNDAY OF ADVENT

The sermon “Removing the Cataracts” will be based on Isaiah 35:1-10, James 5:7-10 and Matthew 11:2-11.   Our liturgist will be Mark Davis.   Lighting the candle of Joy will be Mark and Cathy Riefenhauser and Keri Lavish.   Our “Testimony” presenter will be Rynn Naylor.  After worship, the Rev. Garrett Walkup, a hospice chaplain, will offer a presentation in Fellowship Hall entitled “Grief, Healing and the Holidays.”

DECEMBER  21                CHRISTMAS SUNDAY / THE FOURTH SUNDAY OF ADVENT

Our annual Christmas pageant will tell the story of the birth of Christ.  The message, “Fashioning the Crib of Christ” will be based on Isaiah 7:10-16 and Matthew 1:18-25.

The candle of Love will be lit by Meg, Jon, Sam and Lydia Temple.

DECEMBER 24                 THE NATIVITY OF THE LORD, CHRISTMAS EVE.

The message “For Those Who Say ‘Yes!’” is a story of redemption at Christmas based on Isaiah 9:2, 6-7, St. Luke 2:1-20 and John 1:1-5, 10-14.  The Shay families will light the Christ Candle.

DECEMBER 28                THE FIRST SUNDAY OF CHRISTMAS

The Rev. Garrett Walkup will preach “The Faith of the Magi” based on Matthew 2:1-12.

Sarah Kate Walkup will sing.   Our liturgist will be Cathy Riefenhauser.
